Unique, Resilient, Respected, Nurtured, Inspired, Challenged

Forest Lodge Academy is a happy, lively and caring place where each child’s uniqueness is cherished and where they are encouraged to learn in a safe, positive environment.

‘A unique family working together to be the best’

At Forest Lodge we will ensure all children attending receive an education through exciting, enriched, creative experiences ensuring children are fully prepared for life in the 21st Century, where all are inspired to be aspirational – through collaborative, innovative, creative experiences in an environment which enthuses and challenges all to be the best that they can possibly be.

All pupils are on school site for 32.5 hrs a week – 6hrs 30 mins a day in Years 1-6.  Reception – 6hrs 20 mins a day 31 hrs 40mins

We moved into a brand new school building (September 2015) which was built as part of the Priority Schools Building Project. This was an extremely exciting time for all those involved with the school and community. Now the school has been established we have added capacity and are now a large 3 form entry primary school.

The school is on a large site that provides plenty of space both inside and outside the building. We have a library, a kitchen for curriculum use as well as one for school meals and a practical learning room for Art and Design Technology lessons.

Our large hall and small halls are suitable for many activities having adaptable staging, and PE equipment. Our three playgrounds, football and cricket pitch give plenty of space for physical activity where children can play and exercise. We also have a school peace garden where children can reflect, read as well as plant and grow fruit and vegetables which will be used as part of the schools food curriculum.

Forest Lodge Academy will aid all to have an exciting future, socially, emotionally and academically. We look forward to working in partnership with you.

If you would like to visit and see us in action we would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the school office to make an appointment – email: [email protected] or phone us on 0116 287 1220.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Great sentiments and so true!

Our baking club has had a fantastic first four weeks! We’ve been busy learning how to read and follow recipes as well as practising key skills like weighing, measuring, mixing, rolling and of course, the best part has been tasting our delicious creations!

So far we've made jam thumbprint biscuits, baked and decorated some wonderful cupcakes, made pizzas and pancakes. Everyone has done an amazing job and it’s clear we have some talented budding bakers in the group. We can’t wait to see what they create next!

Former Pupil: Lincoln Herbert
It was a real privilege to welcome back former pupil Lincoln Herbert, who attended Forest Lodge Academy from 2009 to 2015, to deliver an inspiring assembly to our Year 4–6 pupils on Monday 27th April. Lincoln spoke passionately about his journey since leaving school, sharing how dedication and perseverance helped him become a professional performer and dancer. He gave pupils a fascinating insight into his current role performing on cruise ships, travelling the world and entertaining audiences across different countries. His presentation, supported by engaging slides, highlighted both the exciting opportunities and the hard work involved in following a career in the performing arts. The children were captivated by his story, and it was wonderful for them to see how a former Forest Lodge pupil has gone on to achieve such success on a global stage. Lincoln also went on to carry out a question-and-answer session with pupils from Year 5, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were eager to ask Lincoln questions about his educational journey and chosen career.

If you are a former pupil of Forest Lodge Academy and would like to inspire the next generation, we would love to hear from you. Sharing your journey, experiences, and the career path you have chosen can make a real difference to our pupils and help them see what is possible for their own futures. If you are interested in coming back to speak to our children, please click the link below—we look forward to welcoming you back! This will be for some time in the next academic year 2026/2027.
