Colour dash was a huge success once again, raising money for the LCH Charity

8th June 2026
Our girls football team recently participated in the Premier League Stars U11 National Finals at Molineux Stadium! Representing Leicester City, the girls competed against winning schools from across the country, each representing different football clubs.
While the results may not have gone the way they hoped, the team delivered some fantastic performances against incredibly strong opposition. The girls should be so proud of themselves, and we certainly are!
It’s been an amazing year for this talented group, who have shown outstanding attitude, skill, and resilience every step of the way. We couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved. well done, girls!

Over the last few weeks, Reception children have enjoyed taking part in lots of exciting activities in and outside the classroom. They took part in a Minibeast workshop where they got to learn about and hold different creatures. To make most of the great weather they have also continued enjoying Forest Fun sessions, as well as taking part in our school’s Colour Dash run before half term.

Our Year 3 and Year 4 children recently enjoyed a fantastic football festival at the training ground of Leicester City Football Club. We took two teams to compete in a series of 6-a-side matches against schools from across the city.
Both teams performed exceptionally well and remained undefeated throughout the festival. The children displayed excellent teamwork, resilience, and determination, particularly in some very competitive games.
We are incredibly proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship shown by all of the pupils. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school and should be very proud of their achievements. Well done to everyone involved!

Strider loved visiting Forest Lodge this morning and he would like to thank all the pupils for being so kind and respectful towards him. He is so impressed with how many pupils partake in active travel to school! Remember to walk, scoot, ride or park and stride to school to earn your monthly badge!

A massive well done to our girls’ football team, who not only made it to the Inspire Leicester Cup tournament but went on to win it overall!

The girls won six games in total and only drew one game during the group stage, an amazing achievement and a true reflection of their hard work and teamwork throughout the tournament.
A huge congratulations to all the girls, and a special well done to Frankie for being named Player of the Tournament!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been fortunate to experience ClassVR, an exciting and safe way to bring virtual reality into the classroom.
A huge thank you to
LEAD I.T Services for lending us the equipment and supporting us with the setup and delivery of each session. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning in a completely different and immersive way, exploring topics such as space, the Victorian era, dinosaurs, and much more.
It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement throughout the experience.

our Year 6 children smashed through their SATs and we are so proud of them. As a treat for all of their hard work, we had an art day where we built our WWII garden dioramas and then took part in a graffiti workshop.
To top it all off Mrs Shellard and Mrs Caldwell were able to wangle us all some pizza to end the celebrations. We are so proud of our Year 6’s – well done guys!

Former Pupil: Lincoln Herbert
It was a real privilege to welcome back former pupil Lincoln Herbert, who attended Forest Lodge Academy from 2009 to 2015, to deliver an inspiring assembly to our Year 4–6 pupils on Monday 27th April. Lincoln spoke passionately about his journey since leaving school, sharing how dedication and perseverance helped him become a professional performer and dancer. He gave pupils a fascinating insight into his current role performing on cruise ships, travelling the world and entertaining audiences across different countries. His presentation, supported by engaging slides, highlighted both the exciting opportunities and the hard work involved in following a career in the performing arts. The children were captivated by his story, and it was wonderful for them to see how a former Forest Lodge pupil has gone on to achieve such success on a global stage. Lincoln also went on to carry out a question-and-answer session with pupils from Year 5, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were eager to ask Lincoln questions about his educational journey and chosen career.
If you are a former pupil of Forest Lodge Academy and would like to inspire the next generation, we would love to hear from you. Sharing your journey, experiences, and the career path you have chosen can make a real difference to our pupils and help them see what is possible for their own futures. If you are interested in coming back to speak to our children, please click the link below—we look forward to welcoming you back! This will be for some time in the next academic year 2026/2027.

The outfits and effort were incredible – from Michael Jackson-inspired looks to brilliant homemade t-shirts, it was fantastic to see everyone joining in and celebrating maths in style.
Our TT Rockstars battle was a huge success, with all finalists doing amazingly well. A special shoutout to our overall champion, Karam from 4AW, who answered almost 80 times table questions in just one minute!

It’s been such a lovely day seeing the whole school buzzing with excitement, energy and a love of learning. We think this might need to become an annual event…

Huge well done to the 5/6 Netball team that took part in a tournament today. Miss Whitaker was so proud of the way that the children behaved throughout the day and was so impressed with how much the children’s skill improved over the course of the day. Overall, we came 8th in the Leicester West competition and 15th within Leicester overall, which is an amazing achievement considering we had never practiced as a team before! Well done guys, fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and perseverance demonstrated by all. Well done.
